The Awakening

Isaiah 9:2

the people walking in darkness

on those living in the land of the shadow of death

The Awakening Mission

Mission Statement:

The purpose of the Awakening is to fulfill the “Great Commission” as explained in Matthew 28:18-20.  18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen..

The Awakening exists most importantly to see lives transformed from the dark, evil nature of this world to the light, fulfillment, happiness, and goodness of Jesus Christ.

Secondly, we exist to teach, prepare, equip, and build up lives that have been transformed so they can grow in Christ and live lives that reflect the Savior that is within them.

And lastly, we exist so those who have been transformed can take the knowledge and tools they have gained and go back out into their communities, schools and workplaces and reach those who do not know Christ as their Savior.

Strategies:

We will strive to reach this mission by

+ Creating an appropriate environment, one that is comfortable and promotes the building up of youth.

+ Communicating to each youth their value to God, the Kingdom of God, and to our youth group.

+ Providing opportunities for each youth to experience and know a true relationship with God.  (we will study the Word of God, promote a daily prayer life, and provide opportunities to worship God)

+ Helping the youth to develop skills and knowledge for continual growth toward spiritual maturity and ministry within the Body of Christ.

+ Equipping teens and promoting the desire to continue following Christ after High School and throughout their lives.

+Providing opportunities for the youth to serve Christ through many different ministries (singing, drama, mission projects, passing out Bible tracts, leading devotionals, witnessing to the lost, and caring for the homeless and downtrodden.

+Helping teens to discover their role in the Kingdom of Heaven.
